Ear block

Stuffy ear is a very common clinical ear symptoms, in daily life, many people often feel stuffy ear, just like a bunch of cotton in the ear, their speech seems to feel the sound in the ear, in addition, stuffy ear is often accompanied by hearing loss, tinnitus and so on, it is very difficult to suffer. Ear tightness should be treated in time, such as eustachian tube dysfunction caused by ear tightness, secretory otitis media can occur for a long time. For some primary causes of ear tightness, such as papilloma of external auditory canal and nasal polyps, timely surgical treatment should be performed.

Etiology and common diseases:

1. External ear lesions

For example, ① cerumen is blocked, especially when cerumen completely blocks the external auditory canal; ② The external auditory canal can be blocked when the furuncle is large; ③ Children like to put rubber, mung beans and plastic beads into the external auditory canal when they play, while adults often have insects flying into the external auditory canal in summer; ④ External auditory canal tumors are common, such as papilloma of external auditory canal.

2. Middle ear lesions

The main cause of ear tightness is eustachian tube disease. If cold, rhinitis, nasal polyps and other diseases, the opening mucosa of the nasal side of the eustachian tube swells, the eustachian tube can not be opened, the tympanum will become a closed cavity, for a long time, the air inside will be absorbed by the mucosa, the tympanum will become negative pressure, and the ear will be stuffy. The common causes of eustachian tube dysfunction are: ① acute rhinitis: common cold, at this time the nasal mucosa congestion and swelling caused by Eustachian tube pharyngeal stenosis; ② Chronic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps and severe deviation of nasal septum can also cause pharyngeal stenosis and blockage of eustachian tube; ③ Adenoid hypertrophy adenoid is a lymphoid tissue located in the nasopharynx. Adenoids are often larger in childhood, and gradually shrink with age. Sometimes excessive adenoid hypertrophy can block the pharyngeal tympanic orifice; ④ The function of levator veli PALATI and tensor veli PALATI in cleft palate patients with congenital cleft palate caused the opening of eustachian tube; ⑤ Nasopharyngeal tumors benign tumors are mainly nasopharyngeal fibroangioma, and malignant tumors are mainly nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

3. Inner ear diseases

It is mainly caused by membranous labyrinth lesions. The main inner ear lesion causing ear tightness is Meniere's disease. The main characteristics of the patients are ear tightness, tinnitus, paroxysmal vertigo and fluctuating hearing loss.

The differential diagnosis was as follows

1. Ear plug

Ear blockage is a symptom of sudden deafness, which usually occurs before deafness. Sudden deafness (hereinafter referred to as sudden deafness) is a sudden and unexplained sensorineural deafness, also known as sudden deafness. The onset of acute, rapid progress, treatment effect is directly related to the treatment time, should be regarded as ear emergency.

2. Sense of occlusion in ear

Sense of occlusion in the ear refers to the hearing loss caused by the blockage of the ear like a mass of cotton. Tinnitus, hearing loss and sense of occlusion are common symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurs in the lateral wall of nasopharynx. Unilateral tinnitus or hearing loss may occur when the eustachian tube is compressed by tumor, and secretory otitis media may also occur.

The hearing test of individual patients with monaural dullness is the same as that of normal people, but in monaural hearing, the sense of direction is weak, only the volume can be felt, the direction of pronunciation is not clear, and there is a certain blind area in front of binaural hearing.

Therapeutic principles

After ear stuffy, we should deal with it in time, make clear the cause in time, and treat it accordingly. For some primary causes of ear stuffy, such as external auditory canal papilloma, nasal polyps, secretory otitis media, we should treat it in time. For nasopharyngeal carcinoma, we should treat it in time, so as not to worsen the condition.
