What causes tinnitus?
Tinnitus is a common disease in otorhinolaryngology department. It is also a symptom of many systemic and local diseases. There are many stimulating and influencing factors, and it is often closely related to the psychological state of patients, so the diagnosis is extremely difficult. The mechanism of tinnitus is still unclear, but most scholars believe that tinnitus is caused by spontaneous discharge of the lesion.

Some people often feel that there are some special sounds in their ears, such as buzzing, hissing or sharp whistles, but there is no corresponding sound source around them. This is called "tinnitus". Tinnitus can make people upset and restless, and even affect their normal life and work.

There are many causes of tinnitus

1) Tinnitus is mainly caused by ear diseases, such as external ear diseases: external auditory canal inflammation, cerumen embolism, external ear foreign bodies, acute and chronic inflammation of middle ear, tympanic membrane perforation, otosclerosis, inner ear Meniere's syndrome and acoustic neuroma.

2) Tinnitus also occurs in vascular diseases, such as glomus jugulare tumor, small blood vessel dilatation in ear, vascular malformation, hemangioma, etc. tinnitus from vein is mostly noisy, and tinnitus from artery is consistent with pulse.

4) Tinnitus can also be caused by other systemic diseases: autonomic nerve disorder, cerebral blood supply deficiency, pre stroke, hypertension, hypotension, anemia, diabetes, malnutrition.

4) In addition, excessive use of ototoxic drugs such as gentamicin, streptomycin or kanamycin can also lead to tinnitus and hearing loss, and tinnitus occurs earlier than hearing loss.

5) Excessive fatigue, lack of sleep, emotional tension can also lead to tinnitus.
